Version information
From version 1/3/20 the source text of the hamster is freely available (Open Source).
From version 1/3/19 the hamster's-boarder groups
"hamster.misc", "hamster.posted" and "hamster.errors" were replaced with the common group "internal.misc" as a standard aim for internal messages. This measure had become necessary because of the establishment of own "hamster" top Level hierarchy in the Usenet. To move this if necessary again, one can execute either in hamster.ini the changes:Internalgroup.default=hamster.misc
Internalgroup.postok=hamster.posted
Internalgroup.posterrors=hamster.errors
Or simply the menu point " attitudes(settings) / fundamental philosophies ", Tab " Internal groups " use.
From version 1/3/5 a new format is applied for the History-file. An adaptation of the data format takes automatically place by the start of a higher version. A change on a lower version is not possible afterwards any more just like that.
From version 1/3/3 it is not possible any more to announce itself without name and password in the local POP3 and server NNTP of the hamster. With the change of lower versions it is required to give away a password for the user "admin". Then this must be used naturally also with the applied news and E-mail-Reader for the access to the hamster.
